>>PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Digital Projects & Usability Librarian, Indiana University Digital Library Program, July 2006 – Present
Tenure track position at the Assistant Librarian rank. Responsible for coordinating and managing digital library projects in partnership with the Associate Director for Projects and Services. Help faculty, librarians and DLP staff develop and execute project plans and grant proposals. Serve as the lead for electronic text services and projects; responsible for e-text development and workflow planning -- document analysis, encoding specifications and quality control. Coordinate and lead user studies for the Digital Library Program, Bloomington Libraries, and external partners. Other responsibilities include: providing contextual information for digital library resources; conducting research related to digital library interface development; sharing research and project updates in local, national and international conferences and publications; participating in various Libraries- and campus-wide committees; coordinating digital library outreach and awareness across Indiana University; coordinating usability and user-centered design awareness across the Bloomington Libraries; and mentoring/managing graduate assistants, interns, hourly staff and a professional, full-time position.

Interface & Usability Specialist, Indiana University Digital Library Program, April 2002 – July 2006
Developed and lead iterative user studies following diverse methodologies, from field observations to lab testing, to inform user interface design and functionality requirements. Developed prototypes using a combination of PHP, X/HTML, and CSS technologies. Implemented final interface design using X/HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Defined use and user requirements as well as contributed to technical documentation. Other responsibilities included: providing contextual information for digital library resources; conducting research related to digital library interface development; sharing research and project updates in local, national and international conferences and publications; project management; and mentoring/managing graduate assistants and interns.

Web Developer, Oncourse, University Information Technology Services, May 2001 – April 2002
Responsible for usability and accessibility assessment and interface design, including content organization, style sheet implementations (CSS1), HTML and graphic creations. Web development included programming in ASP/Visual Basic for enhancements and application maintenance, and prototyping new features in PHP.

Web Developer, Departmental Information Services, University Information Technology Services, September 2000 – May 2001
Designed web-based applications for departmental and university-wide usage. Primary technologies utilized were HTML, Java Scripting, ASP/Visual Basic and Uniface. Conducted database design and modeling in MS Access and Sequel Server as well as programmed in Access. Created graphical user interfaces using PhotoShop, Illustrator, Fireworks, HTML and CSS, utilizing user-center design principles.

Membership and Public Information Coordinator, Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA), North Miami, FL, January 1998 - August 1998
Managed and organized the membership database. Promoted MoCA’s membership benefits during special events. Collaborated with the Education Curator in program creation and development of educational and fund-raising events. Assisted the Program Coordinator in press-related activities. Other responsibilities included copy editing for the Chief Curator and Director, research for special exhibitions and the creation and organization of a film series.

>>OTHER PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Co-director, Your Art Here, July 2005 – Present
Co-direct an Indiana-based non-profit public arts organization, Your Art Here. Responsible for: administrative management (strategic planning, budget/finances, grant writing, fundraising, etc.), coordinating existing projects such as Billboard Generation, a student competition held annually in honor of Youth Art Month; and developing new projects and collaborations to further the organization’s mission.

Designer and Technical Support, Digital Humanities Quarterly (DHQ), Fall 2005+
Assist in the design of online, peer-reviewed digital humanities journal, Digital Humanities Quarterly. Responsibilities include wire framing, prototyping and implementing final design using open-source solutions. Contribute to ongoing development work as new features and functionality are added; support interface enhancements as necessary.
